“I have learned identifying components back in college. I was always curious as a kid, and had explored what was inside my toys. Back there in my college i was learning about the things i had seen inside my toys. Lets learn about them in the most simple way…..”
Light Emitting Diodes are called LED, in electronics.
LED is a semiconductor device that emits infrared or visible light when connected to our 9V battery with a resistor definitely. LEDs are used in many electronic devices for indication purpose (eg. Out smart phone might have a small LED blinking to show that we have a notification or our WiFi router has LEDs to indicate that it is functioning well).
There are many types of LED’s. For now lets learn to connect a LED on the breadboard.
How to read Schematic Diagrams?
Once we connect the circuit we will see our LED in action. It will turn ON, if it does not please check the polarity of the LED. The positive of the LED is the longer leg and the negative is the shorter one.
